As bad as things get in the US or Western Europe, I take solace no “Organization Concerning Human Sacrifice and Torture in Flanders” has been created (so far). Yet Islamic honor killings may be tangentially related here and I would be interested in thoughts to this.
Just recently re-watched The Last King of Scotland and am still struck at the viciousness of the Amin regime. Paranoid, psychotic, and vile… they made Papa Doc blush. Is the issue in Uganda mainly due to long-standing pagan religious beliefs, a cultural holdover from the years of strife and dictatorship, or something ethnic tied to particular groups in the country?
We must consider WHO's recent Abortion Care Guidelines Recommendation for making abortion available throughout the pregnancy, as a brutal sort of sacrifice for an ideal future.
Given this is very common practice seen in humans, we must consider whether not, our practice of abortion
for the sake of a womans career or future, can't also be interpreted as the architypical sacrifice of children for an ideal future.
